Allright.
I think she’s nasty, honestly. I’ve always thought of her as a little trashy, but you know. “country!” (or, cuntry..) so it’s OK to be a little trashy. I hate her music. I’m completely uninterested in her career, her hair, her custody battle, and her dreadful fashion sense. I’ve often been stumped by her lack of direction. she has so much money, why doesn’t she hire people to dress her and tell her what to say?
but. This new thing? After the VMA’s, calling her fat? WHAT THE FUCK? Seriously? Is that who we are now, as a society? We’re going to bash her for being curvy? After having 2 kids in what, 2 years? I just read a blog that said “You can only see her curves when she turns sideways” and the same blog rebuked Britney for ruining his jackoff fantasies forever. wtf? By having kids and being proud of the body that having kids gave her, she’s now ruined in your book?
Hate on her for dancing like she was stoned, or lip syncing badly. Fine. Fuck, Hate on her choice of clothing, especially given that she’s not American Standard Perfect anymore. I will concede that she could have, if she was intent on concealing her new body, made better decisions about her outfit. (Although I’d be willing to bet producers had a say in the outfit she ended up in.)
But Jesus, lay off the woman. She’s not fat. She’s not even chunky.
Do you think people know that they are creating the next generation of anorexics when they say shit like that? Do you think any of these people have daughters?
So what’s happening? What has happened to our perceptions of beauty?
What can we do to stop our girls from being affected by this?
