I love the high risk O.B. His accent reminds me of Gomez Addams, and his relaxed attitude is contagious. Even though recalling him now I couldn’t tell you what he looks like, I left with the impression that he’s sexy. Accents. Why do they do that to us?

He actually said “oh-you had a few contractions? well, if they get regular, just call us, OK? You know what you’re looking for.” And “Your fasting sugar is perfect. So these high sugars-they’re related to food. So, you know, just figure out what you’re eating to get those high readings, and then just… don’t. It will take you a while to figure out what you can eat and what makes your sugar rise. The dietician cannot tell you that because it’s individual.” (HA!) When I asked him if these few high sugars are hurting the baby or making him grow huge, he smiled indulgently and said simply, “no”.
