This is a worthy thing. Now, I’d like to be all Earth First! about it, and suggest that reusable pads would be a better option, but I have to say if my partner was beating my ass and I was in a shelter, I’m not sure I’d be all about the environmentally superior pad. So do this thing here, and 7th Generation will donate a box of stuff to a shelter. They’re better than Playtex, at least.

From now until October, Seventh Generation, producer of chlorine-free toilet paper, facial tissue, tampons and more, will give a box of tampons or pads to a women’s shelter every time visitors to www.tampontification.com click the “donate” link.
Says the eco-company, “You and I may take our monthly trips down the feminine care aisle for granted, but, for women in shelters, a box of tampons is five dollars they can’t spare.”
