My baby hates to be put down. I confess that this fact does not bother me except at night, when evidently being pulled close and having breath on her isn’t enough security. She has to literally be on someone-Michael or I- to fall asleep. I am also beginning to think she doesn’t like the dark. I further cofess that I would forgo showers and breakfast and brushing my teeth forever, if she would just stay as sweet as she is when I’m holding her close and watching her little face and body relax and drift into sleep. Soon I will master the sling so that I might eat.

Speaking of eating. I might be the only woman in history to have gained weight after leaving the hospital. Argh.

And by the way. I’m glad I had a baby this year, this time of the year. otherwise it would not be so easy to ignore the incredible sad, sad shape of this country’s politics.  I am happily oblivious, while maintaining a state of indignation in the back of my mind. But I will vote, this time. And I’ll wear the baby when I do, and put an “I voted” sticker on her shirt.

WHich reminds me- I have a new printer, and so why not get some iron on transfer paper and make my own custom onesies, since the ones at babywit.com are beyond my budgetary constraints? Whoo hoo! Will be posting pics of said onesies very soon. And pregnant friends, anticipate some mad cool baby shower gifts.
