Well, the view out my window is gray and wet. The dog hates me, the cats are huddled under the house, and I forgot that I don’t have a gas stove anymore, therefore no french press coffee. Oh, and I was so haughtily nonchalant about the loss of power, too. Oh no big deal, I thought. We’ve got Capri sun and spaghettios! What?
No coffee, is what.
The power was only out for an hour or so today. I dove into the shower as soon as the lights flickered (electric well pump) and turned the A/C down to 75 (it’ll take longer to bake us if it starts out cold when the next branch falls over a line) and of course, jumped on the internet so that I could tell you all that we’re fine, we’re OK, Jack’s sound machine runs on batteries and we have a metric fuckton of legos.
It’s just that the dog will not go outside to relieve herself unless a human is standing in the yard with her. I suppose if that’s the largest of our problems from Fay, we’re all right.
