And just like that, the world righted itself

Holy shit but I love the drywall guys. Our new friend brought 2 guys and a suburban, moved the door in about 45 minutes and as I write this is at Lowe’s picking up the shower and replacement drywall. By the end of the day, it will be like this never happened, save for the gaping hole in our savings account. Whatever, it’s a capital improvement on the house. I bought a bathroom vanity for 60 bucks yesterday. I suppose whatever I’ve saved on fixtures by using reclaimed goods I’ll spend on labor paying for my mistakes.

But you know? That’s OK. It’s OK for me to make mistakes and have to fix them. This is what people do who don’t have a Graham hovering over their shoulder on every project. You miscalculate, you fuck up, and you lose time and money sometimes getting it right. And then you learn. Some lessons are more expensive than others.
