So we’re adding more space and for some reason I feel the need to get rid of some shit. Confession: I’m one of those people who would rather not see their kids’ shit (and by shit I of course mean educational [lead-free, made in America] toys and stimulating books) and gear all over the house.
too bad.
But still. I’m hauling some shit out of here this weekend; broken stereo parts, grungy high chairs, gross towels I thought I would keep for “rags” but seriously does a person need more than three drawers of rags? Also. For the first time in history, I will purge my electronics/cord boxes. There are two of them, and already I’ve removed parts of a broken phone, an ethernet modem from 2001, three cell phone chargers from my very first three cell phones (2001-2003), RAM from a Pentium II computer, a broken power supply, and a vintage keyboard.
I feel lighter already.
A few weeks ago we parted ways with Clothes Mountain, so there’s not much to do in the bedroom unless I’m able to get my dear husband to consider the WALL OF TOYS in his closet. Not kidding, there are several shelves in there, each of them home to partitioned boxes (you know the kind, meant for screws and nuts an bolts and the like) full of little cast iron (what the hell are they made of, really?) figures and vehicles. At least we know where to go if we need a visual aid the next time Bush’s lackeys give us some military scenarios to ponder.
You DID NOT just mention M’s collection of tiny metal toys on the internet, did you???
Hell to pay, mama!
