Well. Here we are, and here he is. I’m trying to get some photos up, and will post them soon. I’m still enjoying the twilight and delicious baby scent, so I can’t write much of the birth story, except to say that after the really awful part, things turned around and got less horribe and have continued to improve. We’re going home tomorrow with a baby! And we never, ever have to see those fucking doctors again.
Stats:
Jackson Graham Luft was born at 1:52 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007 weighing in at 9 pounds, 13 ounces. He is 20 or 22 inches long depending on what little card you’re reading. I’m sure it’s very important to the Whole Internet, so I’ll be sure to measure him and get the real numbers. His head is 14 inches, his chest 15 inches.
One of his eyes was glued shut with vernix, and so that eye tends to stay shut most of the day. And the nicknames begin.
