I should have known when the first “stance” in the Belly Dance/Pilates video instructions was a word I’ve never heard. But I gave it a shot anyway, and even ToddlerA was in the game for a little while.
Um, Suhaila? What’s the definition of “beginner” in your world? Because here’s the thing: When a person can’t extend their legs out to the side, then that person isn’t gonna be able to “lean forward and release” their glutes. And “isolating” my upper back and then upper and lower abs one right after the other? Not happening. I’m obviously not cut out for undulation.
Someone for the love of all that is holy please point me toward a workout video that a) isn’t fucking impossible and b) is amusing to children and c) can be completed without injury in less than an hour.
Please! Here are the things I’ve tried already:
Yourself! Fitness
Belly Dance in all formats I think
Windsor Pilates (actually that one might work, I’m just a lazy fuck and I got bored with it)
Crunch Fat Burning Yoga
The Grind (those ones are great if you live in a dance studio or have a living room with no furniture)
OH I forgot to add! Dance Dance REVOLUTION! ToddlerA hates it.
Salsa? Should I try Salsa dancing? Don’t tell me to go outside. I’ve already addressed that issue, here. Plus, it’s florida and mosquito season is upon us.
there’s always “Elmocize.” Altho I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. maybe if she likes dance one of those beginning dance videos? I too bought a couple(even before you mentioned it the first time!!!) and have not even popped them in. yet another link in that cosmic connection…
